Butter cream country, but maybe in a good way?

Sainsbury's Supermarket has refused to publish my pearls of wisdom regarding Fox's Chocolatey Milk Chocolate Orange Biscuits. Apparently, it "Doesn't quite meet our community standards this time"

So here it is...

A jaunty angle, but is ts necessary?

I bought these biscuits because they were on special offer. I was in the aisle and looking for fun. Did I find it? Hard to tell, really.

I say this because I only paid £1 for these biscuits, and apparently there was 50p off. Given that there are only 6 biscuits nestling beneath their packet, set at a jaunty angle in their unnecessary plastic harness, that's 25p per biscuit at full price.

The base is a quality confection of chocolate and shortbread biscuit. The chocolate topping is generous, but never overstays its welcome in the mouth. The drizzle of white chocolate on top, however, offers a stark tonal shift to what lies beneath.

The filling seems essentially to be butter cream icing with the merest suggestion of orange. Almost none, in fact. The chocolate part of the equation is fine. The butter cream is also fine. But the sacred three-way equilibrium simply cannot be  maintained by this little orange. It is out of balance!

But then again, for a quid, they're fine biscuits for a minor celebration, such as bad news about a childhood enemy or finding money in a charity overcoat.

If you want tang, buy a 9 pack of Orange KitKats - they're also on offer for the same price - but this here is butter cream country, which I happen to like.
